FAQ's (from Tecmo)
Deception 3
this game is a whole new challenge. First, here's a little background into the story. You're a girl named Reina from the island of Burganfada. You were orphaned as a child and adopted by your stepmother Rosetta. It's your 17th birthday and you're at home with your stepmother and your little brother. Some evil men break into your home and capture you and your family. They ship you to the Island of Alendar to be enslaved. Once in Alendar they bring you to King Frederick. Forced to bow in front of the king he expresses his hate for the Burganfadans. Your mother insults him and he has her killed right in front of you. You are then taken to the dungeon to await your fate. And so starts chapter 1…
Chapter 1
When Gordon the Torturer enters just set off the traps already set up to kill him. Your first real challenge is Jade the soldier. Kill him and progress to chapter 2.
Chapter 2
There are 2 people after you here at once. Take advantage of the room traps for maximum damage, like the electrified grate (set off by touching the glowing yellow light stone). To set off oil drums push them with a push wall. Watch out for the pendulum in the middle of the room. It does damage to your captors but can also hurt you.
Chapter 3
This one's not too hard. Just kill Gina the Thief and Wolf the soldier to progress to the next chapter. When you do, you get the fire and thunder emblems. By now you should be building up lots of Dreaks (cash) too. This would be a good time to check out your equipment screen and see what you can buy. Don't spend all your money, but pumping up a few of your weapons is a good idea to cause more damage. Here's what I recommend for low cost modifications. Add a little Thunder. An electrified Mega Rock is a big hunk of voltage and it does some major damage. A little Thunder to your arrow slit can change an ordinary arrow into a flying buzzsaw. You don't really need to worry about increasing your orbs. Just try different weapon combinations, but don't spend a lot of money just yet. And read the book. I know you don't want to, but it will help you learn how to make better traps.
Chapter 4
Now here's Christina and Jugar (the guy with the huge mallet). The easiest way to complete this chapter is to run under the bridge so that Christina follows you. When Christina is under the bridge and Jugar is on top, hit the yellow light to trigger the bridge to fall. Then Christina will flee and you're just left with Jugar. To kill him you might want to try out traps in the torture chamber (it's through the door at the bottom of the stairs). Finish him off, and you earn a blast bomb.
Chapter 5
Things are getting a little harder. There are 4 people out to get you here Silvia the Amazoness, Resephena a white witch, Ares a fighter, and Raditz a hunter. Watch out for Ares he's quick. Also, witches and priests can heal their allies. So kill Resephena quickly.
Chapter 6
Your best plan is to run from where you start, up the stairs, and down the hallway to the chamber with the staircases. Stand at the top of the stairs and set up traps at the door and on the stairs to hit Osbourne the sorcerer as he enters the room. Garcia the hunter will soon be entering from the other door. Kill him quickly because 2 more opponents are coming. Garnet the thief is quick and when you hit Sirado once he runs away.
Chapter 7
RUN, you're surrounded! Take Liza out first. Next is Judeka the Darkwitch, she has some pretty evil attacks. Kill Raven and Lorenze appears. Finish him off to complete the chapter and pick up the vase weapon. Yeah! Vases can be lots of fun.
Chapter 8
Relax, there's only 2 enemies here. Nothing you can't handle. Be creative with your combos to get your ark up. Valletta can blow herself up, kind of weird but nothing to worry about. Now you've earned the cold emblem.
Chapter 9
Oh no Miguel's got a gun! But don't worry, he wimps out. Hit him once and he'll go away. Next slay Balboa the torturer and Ortega the swordsman so Cupido will appear. In one hit he runs too. Now you get the summon ring and the magnet wall (both very attractive). WOW! Your arsenal's really growing.
Chapter 10
Gemini the ninja chick is fast, and she throws stars. Kill her! And be sure to dodge Dustin's bombs. Finish them and Rutger the soldier and Heisling The alchemist attack. When you're done you get the chaos emblem.
Chapter 11
Cross the assassin and Shubaltz the shadow are 2 tough opponents. Don't underestimate them. Hit them hard and kill them fast. This is a test of your combo skills. Complete this chapter to receive the vacuum floor (it's a lot deadlier than it sounds).
Chapter12
EEEK, I don't mean to alarm you, but there are 6 enemies here. You need to make a master plan to survive. Run through the rooms setting traps as you go so when you run back through you'll be all set. By now you should have your favorites. Galahad is strong and slow. Clayborne shoots at you from a far. Althea heals her allies. Zeon is just a soldier. Sirado runs away again. Now you get the cursed emblem.
Chapter 13
Start with Rutha the amazoness, she's nothing new. Dorgev is a magnetman, he can draw you to him so stay back. He's also immune to magnets. Next is Zardos the torturer. It took forever to kill him. When you succeed, the auto ring is yours.
Chapter 14
In this chapter they just keep coming. There are 6 enemies in all. Remember your strategy from chapter 12 and RUN! Dyer the fighter is fast. Iliad shoots at you. Albatros takes a while to kill. Madula is a darkwitch. She shoots, casts dark, and heals (very annoying). Barbarossa has a dangerous hammer, stay back. Holvain is a flame thrower and is immune to fire. Have you noticed that some of your enemies are immune to the element they fight with? Now you get the rising emblem.
Your Big Decision
Now you are faced with a decision. You're answer here is one of the deciding factors to your fate and how your story will end.
Good luck. I've gotten you over half way through the game and I think you can make it from here. There are so many neat traps you can make. Gameplay varies with each player. Get creative and have some fun!
