My favourite companion was K9 (the robot dog). The writers had so much fun with K9 during the Tom Baker Dr Who era.
The jokes around K9 were very good.

And at times the writers had a bit too much fun with poor old K9. I seem to remember one outside location story where they pulled him along with a fishing line!

Yes, I adored K9, I was always irritated at the people that kept bashing him. It's the same group of people who griped about Dr Who being too 'fun' and 'childish' when it was, at its root, supposed to be both of those things. But I was glad that K9 was as popular as he became. I love those other pictures, which I've seen around in my time in the Dr Who fandom. I did wonder about some of those pics though, like who thought it would be appropriate to do Susan up like a caveman? The Jamie and Victoria are spot-on, and the Zoe's delightful and hilarious though. As I remember the Ben and Polly ones were horribly dated unfortunately but interesting too. I was always terribly fond of Zoe and Victoria. Of course, I dearly loved all the Doctor's companions really. They were all special, each in his or her own way. Thank you for the little run down memory lane. It was nice to think about them. Love! Hushicho
