Yeah, I just saw I, Robot, too. I thought it was pretty darn good, but the best film I've seen all year is still Spidey 2. I thought it was just amazing, especially considering the first one is so boring.
I think AVP might knock it from it's throne, though.

Well I saw Hero today, and truely it was an amazing film. Set in ancient China in the seven warring states period, (Between 230 and 221 BC) Hero centers on the Kingdom of Qin, led by Qin Shihuangdi, who waged war and would eventually conquer the other six kingdoms, unifying the country into what would become the first dynasty of China, and himself the first emperor of a united China or as Qin Shihuangdi called it, unifying 'all under heaven' centralizing the government in the Qin capital of Xianyang. Hero" begins quite dramatically with the arrival of a nameless warrior (Jet Li) at the palace of King Qin (Chen Daoming). The nameless warrior has allegedly vanquished three of the King's would-be assassins, Sky, Broken Sword, and Flying Snow. Because of such heroic service, Nameless is allowed to sit within ten paces of the King and asked to provide the details of his victories. However, as Nameless begins to recount his story about how he used a love triangle between the three assassins to divide and conquer them, Qin begins to see holes in the account, and begins to sense that Nameless is not what he appears to be. The film also features Zhang Ziyi who you may remember from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) and Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Tony Leung Chiu Wai as Broken Sword and Maggie Cheung Man Yuk as Snow. Colours were used to great effect during the storys progression, red, green, and white became mood swings in the movie each of these differing accounts are given their own color scheme, from blood red, to pale blue, rich green, white, and finally, black. As we begin to fathom the loyalties and motives behind the three assassins and the nameless warrior. Arrows, leafs, even water particles became exciting moments in slow motion duels and the airborne stunts were quite superb and well executed, I may see this film several times just to admire the artistic feel the film presents, as a simple plot becomes a far more complex story. Fans of Chinese history should see this film, as it shows a era needing unity in a time of chaos and the target for assassination has many elements within him that draw comparisons to Cao Cao hundreds of years later when the country would once again splinter. DW fans will love the two people versus an army moments too.
