A hypothetical situation arises in the Three Kingdoms era and only you can see the outcome.
The situation is this, the Emperor has been taken by a army lead by a group of no-name generals your mission is simple rescue the Emperor from the fortress of these rogues, you can pick any single warrior from the Three Kingdoms period to do this task, try to think of someone that could get the job done, and try to say why they would be sucessful.
For the sake of good storytelling we can assume that every warrior is at their fighting peak when you are chosing one to go.
Try to have some fun with this too, remember you have to chose one lone warrior to perform this dangerous task.

I think the most obvious answer is Zhou Yun for the fact he is the one who is portrayed as an individual who would face overwhelming odds to complete the rescue mission.
Personally, I would choose Ma Chao. I think he was just as capable and competent as Zhao Yun and his battle prowess could match the mightiest warriors. I think he could successfully complete a extraction mission assuming he could not get caught up in fighting.

Perhaps Zhuge Liang would be able to talk his way through it? Entering the area he seems harmless enough so the troops will allow him access to the fortress to speak with their leader. Zhuge would then convince the leader the error of his way (if it was in a book then perhaps killing him by shame instead well! ;D) However, after being shocked that one of the other generals see's through his words, zhuge whispers in anothers ear and turns him against the general - who zhuge is happy to let him join him. Using the ally as a decoy zhuge manages to escape with the emperor while the rogues chase the ally general for being a traitor. Either that, or zhuge reforms the leader of the rogues and turns the fortress into a well run city which starts to train its troops well and restores peace to the area - with the emeperor being respected in the seat of power, all under the watchful eye of zhuge liang. Edit - just noticed the topic at koei; these are what ive posted there - I know - perhaps Mi Heng should go; he would be allowed into the fortress and when inside would ridicule the generals - who would then get annoyed and go to kill mi heng, which would give the emperor time to escape unnoticed as the generals deal with Mi Heng. A true warrior giving his life to save the emperor. Or maybe Huang Hao should go in, the generals wouldn't have the intelligence not to listen to him. within a month he would have truned the fortress into a poorly run place whereby the generals wouldn't care or take notice if the emperor simply walked out - in fact huang hao could tell them that an old woman predicted they would become rich if they let the emperor go, and do doubt they would believe him!

zhao yun would be an obvious choice lu bu would do a great job but......... i agree zhuge liang could do it if he had zhao yun as his gaurd.......
the best choice that i think there would be would be jaing wei because he has a mind just less of zhuge liang and a spear just less then zhao yun......
tasichi ci of dong lai would be a good pick because he saved all of dong lai from bandit forces including liu bei... zhang fei... and guan yu..... when bandits attacked kong rong's territory of dong lai..... all by his mothers wishes....
