And actually if you check Zhao Yun's SGZ he actually escaped with the Lady Gan as well as the child.....A true accomplishment indeed...

I say Dian Wei because life is the ultimate sacrifice.

Yeah, I mean, what MORE can you give someone than your own life? Granted, after you save the guy by using your own life, you're kinda useless afterwards. Oh well... when in a situation like that, what you do in the future REALLY doesn't matter, does it now?

The question asks who was the bravest. Sacrifing your life is loyal, honourable and noble but not particularly brave. Zhao Yun rode out against a million of Cao Cao's troops - which included many famous generals. Dien Wei was forced into his predictament, to fulfill his duty he had no choice but to stand and fight otherwise he would have been known as a coward/the one that ran away. (i'm not suggesting he was anything but heroic, giving your life was the ultimate sacrifice - as Cao Cao understood) Zhao Yun had the choice, he would not have lost any reputation if he had only stayed on the frontlines instead of charging the enemy. Thus i feel Zhao Yun was the bravest.

Dian Wei all the way! Because out of those 3 he is the only one who died during his "rescue" thing...more of a diversion. with out Dian Wei's "diversion" cao cao would be dead and Wei would have fallen heavily right then and there!!!

Just because he is dead does not make him the bravest. I'm sure Zhao Yun and Zhao Tai would have sacrificed themselves for Liu Bei and Sun Quan if the situation rose.

yes, but would they be willing to fight an army unarmed?? but still dian wei was also one of the strongest people alive (even compared to Lu Bu). plus he is one of my fav generals from Romance of The 3 Kingdoms

If they had to I'm sure they would. Zhao Yun was as loyal to Liu Bei as Dian Wei was to Cao Cao and the same with Zhao Tai and Sun Quan. I doubt they would of lasted quite as long as Dian Wei but they would be willing to do it. I dont think Dian Wei would of been willing to rescue Cao Caos son.

I thought Cao cao favoured his 3rd son the most but had to name his eldest as his successor to avoid rebellion (a Yuan Shao situation).
