Argh!! Moveing back to Wei Yan and his Tiger General status, historically he was not quite the rotten creep he was portrayed as in the Romance books, apparantly he actually did have good tactics and ideas.
I think the part about Zhuge Liang mistrusting Wei Yan was true though, I dont know about the uncanny foresight though.

By the way the book portrays him, you'd think he was a sage or something because he basically knew EVERYTHING and was almost (note that I said ALMOST) perfect...

Hey if someone with his size twelve feet comes blundering into my tent and knocks over my rather nice candle display(that incidently means if I'll die soon or not) I'd be pissed too!!!

Everyone had flaws. Otherwise they wouldn't be human.

Everyone had flaws. Otherwise they wouldn't be human. And Zhuge Liang didn't have flaws until his later years... thus, he was God, turned into a mortal, or something like that. And yes, Iain... I'd be upset, but he didn't seem too angered... it was Jiang Wei who was peeved, remember? Blah, curse that little boy...

jiang wei was mad cuz he just saw his mentor and pretty much father figure's life shortened because of some bumbler. zhuge was very much a Taoist and saw it as the will of heaven, which explains his calmness

Interesting point here and still quite on topic here, if you had to make a new elite squad of five of the best generals of Shu, but later on after the others had all died, who would you pick? With perhaps Wei Yan or Jiang Wei as leader of a later generation of Shu generals. Wei Yan Jiang Wei Ma Dai Zhang Bao Guan XingJust my idea, any suggestions, alterations, opinions, flames?

Yes Chibichan damn that little boy... Didn't Kongming claim he had that 'Aura of Defiance' or whatever? Or was that just in the game? (I'm still reading the books)

Wei Yan Jiang Wei Ma Dai Zhang Bao Guan Xing
Same ones I'd choose. When Guan Yu and Zhang Fei died, they would be replaced by their sons, Wei Yan would replace Huang Zhong, Ma Dai would replace Ma Chao, and Jiang Wei would eventually replace Zhao Yun. They could hardly be compared to their predecessors though.

well zhuge was technically a sage untill he joined liu bei....... but the next lvl of tiger genrals i think would be........
jaing wei as leader ma dai guan xi zhang bao wei yan
wei yan wouldn't be leader because of zhuge liangs major distrust in him and the emperor would have followed zhuges advice casue he was "2nd father"
